The first of three Mercury Retrograde periods for 2021 starts January 30, 2021 in the Air sign of Aquarius, the Water Bearer. Aquarius is one of the triplicate of astrological signs that rules the element of Air and its domains of intelligence, communications, civic action and the Brotherhood of Man. One of three zodiac signs under the energy of Air, with the other two being Gemini and Libra, are mainly responsible for mental stimulation and the thought process. Aquarius’ specialty is thought and movement towards the betterment of planet Earth and how people can learn to get along and support each other.
Mercury rules the astrological signs of Gemini and Virgo, and these two signs are most likely to be affected by the retrograde period. Coupling that with the energy that Mercury emits which is quick-minded and with equally quick action, it may appear that these individuals are restless, over thinking issues, and wanting to make hasty decisions now, when it is all important that any major decision such as marriage or buying a house should be tempered with time, so that the decision made in haste is not regrettable in about a month.
During this three week cycle in which Mercury appears to move backwards in the night sky, you can expect computer malfunctions, mail delays, misconstrued communications, questionable e-mails and the like. The key phrase here is patience in action for Communication. Wait and read carefully any documents you sign, e-mails you send, and words spoken in haste or anger and frustration. They will come back to bite you! The Retrograde period will last until February 19th, and he celestial sky will have moved to the zodiac sign of Pisces, the Fish.
